WESSA –“Stepping up to Sustainability” a Nationwide Climate Change adaptation project in South Africa.

This is a three year programme supported by USAID. There are three components to the project; Capacity building, Sustainable Technologies, and Resource Materials. The climate adaptation programme is strongly integrated into the Eco- Schools.
A definition of a Sustainability Commons is as follows:
“A commons is an area of “commonage” or land that is not privately owned, yet accessible to schools and the public and where people can come and see demonstrations and actually try out the technologies. It is also a destination where courses will be conducted in climate change adaptation.
